Finnish Society for Medical Physics and Medical Engineering (FSMPME) is interdisciplinary, non-profit and professional society for physicists, engineers and physicians. The Society has been established in 1968 and the number of members is about 140. The members of the society are from educational and research institutes as well as from health care companies and hospitals.
The purpose of the society is to arouse and maintain interest towards medical physics, medical engineering and biophysics in Finland. In addition, the society aims to strengthen the development of research, education and industry in these disciplines.

As a member the Board may admit a Finnish citizen or person living in Finland, who works or is interested in the field of the Society. However, it is possible, upon the consideration of the Board, for another person, who has merits in the field of the Society, to be admitted as a member.
